Asha Hospital-Dnb Training
The course duration is of 3 years for primary DNB candidates and 2 years for secondary DNB candidates.
Course Eligibility:
Duration- 3 years
Secondary DNB – MBBS graduate along with DPM and clearance of NEET-PD CET

Why ASHA?
DNB training program at Asha hospital was started in 2006.
Academics
- There are weekly case presentations, seminars, and journal clubs.
- CMEs are conducted once a month where the Residents are encouraged to present papers, cases, and posters.
- Once every fortnight a seminar on specialty clinics is conducted by the faculty of that specialty.
- As Asha is a hospital specializing in Psychiatry, even during the COVID pandemic, training in psychiatry has continued unabated with no compromises in the quality with the addition of weekly online webinars from NBE.
Out-Patient training
Each resident is trained in handling up to a maximum of 80 OP cases per day along with respective consultants and case discussions during the OP, to get an insight into the consultant’s decision-making process, Inpatient Training training in 24/7 emergency, ICU, high-risk wards apart from the general wards, allows residents to see the entire spectrum of severity and gain confidence in attending to any challenges that arise during treatment, Psychiatry patients with multiple comorbidities are managed in liaising with specialists of other branches as well as management in the ICU setup.
Neuromodulation
Hands-on experience in ECT, rTMS, tDCS, Biofeedback, polysomnography coupled with enormous patient load, and experience of the faculty instills decades of experience in these modalities in 3 years.
Speciality training
Within the 100 bedded main hospital – located in banjara hills – there are separate clinics for Geriatrics, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia, OCD, Child and adolescent, and Addiction medicine.
Residents are also posted at specialized centres for Long term care and Rehabilitation at Shamshabad – Asha Jyothi Rehabilitation Centre (AJRC – 150 bedded) and Asha De-Addiction centre (25 bedded) at jubilee hills and Golden Oak Geriatric care centre (40 bedded), a separate unit of Asha catering specifically to Women and child populations – ACCESS Psychology – exists at Panjagutta.
Clinical Research
The faculty here are and have been presidents of various national and international psychiatry organisations and there are great opportunities to work with them and gain experience in medical research and have publications to the resident’s name by the time the course is completed. Opportunities in participation in clinical drug trials, case studies, in coordination with multiple centres pan India.

Girls Hostel is located behind Asha hospital within 100 metres at Banjara hills
Boys hostel is located at Asha de-addiction centre at Jubilee hills
