World Alzheimer’s Day 2025 – Celebrating Strength, Spreading Awareness
On September 21st, 2025, Golden Oak – a unit of Asha Hospital Hyderabad – in association with the Hyderabad Psychiatry Society, hosted a meaningful event to mark World Alzheimer’s Day at our facility in Malkaram Village, Shamshabad.
The day was dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, honoring the strength and resilience of individuals living with dementia, and recognizing the invaluable support provided by caregivers.
Highlights of the Event
The program began with a Welcome Address by Dr. Najamus Saquib Siddiqui, Medical Officer In-Charge at Golden Oak, who emphasized the importance of collective efforts in supporting those affected by Alzheimer’s.
This was followed by an inspiring series of addresses:
- Dr. K. Chandrasekhar, Founder Director of Golden Oak & Asha Hospital, spoke on the relevance of residential care in geriatric psychiatry and how specialized care facilities can make a difference.
- Chief Guest: Dr. Mahesh Marada, Founder Director of Premier Hospital Hyderabad, highlighted the growing need for community awareness and medical collaboration in dementia care.
- Guest of Honour: Dr. Niveditha Samala, President of the Hyderabad Psychiatry Society, spoke about the importance of lifestyle interventions for dementia risk reduction and stressed the need for proactive mental health care.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Megha, followed by a warm fellowship lunch.
