          b)   We use the Advanced Double Cone Coil (Cool D-B80) which was recently approved by FDA in 2020 for OCD.

      2. Brainsway Deep TMS machine: Advanced Neuromodulation technique to stimulate the deeper structures of the brain.

      3. Neuronavigation: MRI and Non-MRI based advanced technology to locate the target site for the TMS procedure. (Brain mapping)

Asha Hospital is the only Private hospital in India to use the Advanced Brainsway Deep TMS and Neuronavigation.

tDCS: (Trans Cranial Direct Current Stimulation)

Direct Current is used in this technique to electrically stimulate the cortex of the brain through the skull (transcranial). Two electrodes covered with sponge like material soaked in saline solution are used as cathode and anode. By placing the electrodes on specific locations on the scalp and completing the circuit, current flows into the superficial layers of cortex and produces the desired effect. Cathode produces an inhibitory effect while the anode produces an excitatory effect.

Biofeedback:

Biofeedback is a mutually interactive learning experience provided to the client by the facilitator in the unit.  This experience to the patients will help in achieving self-control on their behaviour.

Technique: Using Computer-aided Feedback, the patient will be trained to self-control various aspects of behaviour, mostly, the visceral behaviour. Wireless Radio Frequency Modules convert the physiological signals into electrical signals and present them on the computer screen, which will be then available for modulation and analysis.

Accessories: RF Modules which can record and present up to 13 various physiological parameters are available at Asha hospital. E.g., EMG, Thermal, EEG, EDG, SCL, Resp. etc.

1. Electromyography (EMG) – measures muscle tension
2. Thermal biofeedback – measures skin temperature
3. Neurofeedback/ electroencephalography (EEG) – measures brain wave activity
4. Electro-demography (EDG) – measures skin electrical activity

Procedure: After an initial education session on Biofeedback, the patient will be exposed to suitable therapy type and training for few sessions, usually about 3-5. Number of sessions depends on degree of learning and the objective improvement in the parameters. Serial assessments will help modify the session type and design.
